And so ends the story of the blue neon on the front of my car...
Tonight, while driving around Kal, the wrong people caught a glimpse of the blue light on the front of da Sil. They were obviously
jealous of my blue glow and proceeded to outdo me by flashing their high beams and pretty blue and red strobey things...
Of course I'm talking about our friendly neighbourhood police dudes.
After they stopped me, no it wasn't a high speed pursuit, I tried to plead my case by saying that there is only the glow visible,
but they wouldn't have it.
"It is not to be a distraction to other drivers", they say. "You can have the glow underneath the car, but not at the front."
Anyway, they were pretty good about it, got me to blow in their little gizmo, gave me a week to get rid of the light and sent me
on my way. They could've been right pricks, had me lift the bonnet and yellow sticker me for anything and everything, but luckily
for my second encounter with the local cops it's been a reasonably easy experience. I put it down to me being old now and not one
of the expected 'hoon' brigade. Spewin' I didn't ask them how many demerits are on my licence... Guess I can ask them in a week when
they pull me over again...
Looks like I better get on with my stereo and use the neon for that...
In other news, I bought a dash mat for da Sil. I've been meaning to for ages but never got around to it because its not a stock item
in most auto parts shops. Anyway, I was checking out my favourite shop, eBay.com.au, and low and behold there was a Silvia dash mat.
It cost $50 delivered, but the quality is decent and it meant I didn't have to get off my butt to get it. I'll get a happy snap soon.
Maybe tomorrow, while I'm pulling off the neon.

Unfortunately my wheels have still not arrived. To say I am annoyed is an understatement. One of the more popular wheels for the S13 and they have to be out of stock in Australia when I want them...
I've been too lazy to get my car on the dyno. February is traditionally the hottest month here, so hopefully next month it will be cooler and I'll get my act together. According to the 'seat of the pants' dyno, power is definitely up!! Not by a lot, but there is definitely an improvement with the new map.

Thanx to Nav2k from NissanSilvia.com I am proud to add an article to the mods page all about sound deadening your doors. The article was written using an S14 200sx as the subject, but it translates to any car... A door is a door after all.
Still more delays with my wheels... Now Japan is having a stock shortage... At least another 3 weeks before they arrive.

I've been learning lots about web design recently and hopefully you are seeing the benefits. With each book I read I'm learning a little bit more. The current book is about JavaScript, so hopefully that will help and I promise there will be no pop up windows, except for ones to display large images from thumbnails. Please let me know if there is a feature I have added that you do or don't like and I'll try to implement your ideas.

While I was in Perth recently I had the turbo gaskets replaced, as I was getting a terrible screech when the turbo started producing more than a few psi of boost. Thankfully it was only the gaskets and the turbo is in good condition for its age.
I had Lucas (aka Bad Biki) install a BikiROM daughter board into my ECU with two maps. The first map is to suit an S13 SR20DET with front mount intercooler, cat back exhaust, fuel pump and boost, while the second map is a 'Valet' map that restricts the rev limit and speed limit. This will be handy for when the car is dropped of at non-mechanical workshops, ie. tyre shops, restricting the fun that can be had with my car on 'test drives'.
A few hassles with my wheels... The +22 offset 8" rims on the front wouldn't fit, so a +32 offset have been ordered. Waiting... Waiting...
