After a year or so of driving
the Sil with the stock crappy, tweed, SR20 seats that she came with, I decided
it would be a good idea to upgrade to something that didn't have the support
of a wooden school chair. Bride style sports seats immediately popped
into my mind, but the cost and fabrication required to install them kind
of turned me off.

CA18 seats
are generally preferred over the SR20, although I'm not too sure why.
Sportier look? If you are lucky you may find velour instead of tweed,
or even leather.

These are
like the S14 seats, I believe, except they have 180sx printed all
over them.

Nice firm
seat but sits higher than the stock seat. Bolt near the B-pillar doesn't
quite match up.

Joel from SilviaWA's
opinion on these seats...
- They have seat pitch adjustment which is awesome
- They have sidewall adjustment to make them more 'huggy' which
is totally awesome
- They sit about a centimetre higher than standard seats
although this could simply be due to my old seats being really
soft and crumpled.
- They are a little wider than the stock seats so the backrest tilt
handle is harder to reach.
- They are a much higher density foam than the silvia seats
- They have a back pocket to stash things in
- The material is superior
- They take half an hour to install

My R32 GTS-T Seats
Eventually I stumbled across
a set of R32 GTS-T Skyline seats for $150. For that price you get quite
a bit of seat, unfortunately a little too much in my case as they sit
me approximately 1 inch or so higher. Probably not a problem for a shorter
person, less than 6ft, but even with the seat tilted back my hair touches
the roof... I hate that feeling!!
What you do get is a seat that wraps around your butt and torso a heap
better than the stock seats, as well as having two extra knobs to adjust
the tilt of the seat. Don't get me wrong, these are never going to be
racing seats, but they are a huge improvement over stock.
This will be continued once
I get the pics together etc...
