My 1991 Nissan Silvia K's

My Silvia is a 1991 K's model, originally unavailable to Australia, imported for me direct from Japan by Jeff at C-Red Tuning , and I couldn't be much happier with it!!. Fitted with a 2 litre, turbo charged motor (SR20DET) it certainly can get up and boogie... Some people might dismiss its stock power (153kW flywheel), and pace (14.6 qtr mile), but having spent the previous 6-1/2 years in my front wheel drive Daihatsu Applause (100kW flywheel and 16.5 qtr mile), I must say I am enjoying the power and learning the different driving style required.

The clear indicators have gone as part of the compliancing process Other than basic things like car park dents (which are expected from a 12 yr old car with 105,000km, which I hope is correct), a faded rear bumper, and no stereo head unit, the Silvia is in great condition. The chassis rails look good, which means there must've been a good forklift operator shifting my car around, and there doesn't appear to be much in the way of rust. What rust there was, seems to have been professionally repaired...

Notice the big wank factor 5-Zigen muffler, mounted in classic drift style

Exterior

I really like the dark blue duco that adorns my car. I had my heart set on a dark green one but that didn't eventuate, as apparently they are quite rare.

Styling plans for the future are to fit an Aero style front bar and possibly some stock skirts. I'm not a fan of big kits, as they always seem to make your wheels look smaller. As for wings... My car will be quick, but not THAT quick, so I don't need one to ruin the clean lines.

As the paint work is in reasonable condition, I don't really need to have it repainted, except for the bumpers and boot (once I have the holes filled). I'm hoping that the Paintless Dent Removal dude can work some magic and miraculously remove the dents inconsiderate carpark nazis have inflicted on my Sil.

Engine

The only thing not standard here is the strut brace, and HKS panel air filter. In this picture the engine is completely stock. You will notice the strut bar is the only non standard item. Of course that is not the case now, with a few additions for my own personal pleasure. The mods have allowed for a best so far of 198hp at the back wheels.

Interior

The interior is stock, but was fitted with a Nardi wheel and aluminium shift knob... The stock interior is comprised of a boring grey tweed fabric, and dark grey or black plastic. The seats leave a bit to be desired, but they get the job done for now. The rear seats are a joke!! Where I have my driving seat positioned, there is no leg room at all for a rear passenger.

Stereo

The missing head unit didn't bother me, as I already had my Clarion single CD unit to go in. Fortunately there were some speakers in the doors, Alpine splits even, so I haven't bothered swappin them to my 3 way splits... Most of the time I don't even use the radio.
I did have plans to put in one of the 12" subs I have, with a crappy Power Acoustic 2 x 70 watt amp, but I'm not all that worried about bass in the car anymore...
I must be too old...

Mods that I have, and mods to be completed.

So far this is the list of modifications I have made to my Sil...

Front Mounted Intercooler

Pod Filter

17" Buddy Club P1 Wheels

Coilover suspension

Blitz Boost Control

Autotecnica Wheel and Gear Knob

Lowered King Springs and Koni Shocks

R32 GTS-T Front Seats

Bosch 040 Fuel Pump

B&M style short shifter

Mods to be completed...

Fit turbo manifold, dump pipe and front pipe

 - I have these, but I'm waiting for my new turbo.

GT28R Turbo

 - I bought a brand new ball bearing turbo to go with the new exhaust parts.

550cc Injectors

 - I'll see what happens with the stock injectors first, but if they max out I'll have to go larger.

Swaybars and urethane bushes

 - To finish off the handling mods I'll get these parts from Whiteline.

R33 (or similar) brakes

 - You shouldn't have go without slow, so bigger brakes are on my list.
